10 ways to find balance

Work-life balance is a juggle. We all want to see progress and be moving forward but unless we take time to enjoy what we have achieved, develop self-awareness, prioritise our passions and well-being, we can feel unfulfilled and exhausted.

Stress is inevitable in life, but too much of it can take a huge toll on your body, holistic health and ability get the most out of life.

To live a life you love with a sense of calm, energy and fulfilment - it is important to find ways to manage stress and find a balance so that you can spend time on the things that give you energy and bring joy to your life.

Are you ready to set some boundaries, take time for yourself and slow down to simply enjoy your life?

Here are 10 ways to find a balance so that you can make time for yourself, small daily habits and create a healthier more balanced life.

  1.  Spend time alone - prioritise yourself... put some guilt-free relaxation time in your calendar: sleep, meditate, naps, baths, saunas… massage membership! Say no often -put yourself first, no more people pleasing. Taking moments to recharge is key.

  2. Prioritise sleep - set a bedtime and stick to it, create a nighttime routine and listen to your body to know how much sleep you need.

  3.  Plan, plan, plan, and let go! Prioritise the never-ending to-do list, know that there is only so much you can do and trust in the timing or unfolding of life.

  4.  Slow down - keep shifting your attention back to the 'here and now, notice your thoughts and feelings, have moments of mindfulness, time with tech off and create boundaries.

  5. Create a morning routine - time to set yourself up for the day, your favourite warm drink, journal, meditate or move to support stress levels.

  6. Journal - notice inner chatter and positive self-talk, be grateful for what you do have, set goals and get your mindset on track.

  7. Short consistent meditations - relieve stress, lower blood pressure, become more self-aware, focus and energise.

  8. Belly breathing - your calming system, breathing consciously sends a signal to your body that you are safe from perceived danger so that you can be more calm, focused and present.

  9. Eat nourishing food that gives you energy - because you choose (and get to) to nourish yourself- not because you have to.

  10. Remember fun - 'Me time' and 'We time' - Find your passions or hobbies and spend at least 2x 20 minutes on this each week.

How you start and end your day matters.
