5 ways to handle big emotions

We have so many different emotions that we feel.

Often we think some emotions are bad because they are uncomfortable.. learn to be comfortable and sit with the uncomfortable ✨mindfully notice thoughts, feelings and emotions as they arise. Accept and allow yourself to feel this way.

Emotion = energy in motion. Move through it, instead of suppressing it. Know that all emotions are okay, and invite yourself to explore what you might be learning through this challenge.

Bring kindness and curiosity to the situation. Know that this feeling will pass! We could never grow or change if everything was smooth sailing.

Here are five ways to support you with emotions:

1. Take time for you - use your toolbox. “What do I need in this present moment?”
- sleep
- movie or book
- walk and fresh air
- or any of these other tools below 🧰

2. Journal- write it down
The best tool for dealing with emotions! Get thoughts out of your head and become more self-aware. This helps to get your goals and mindset back on track. Use some affirmations or anything to motivate and inspire you. There is always something to be grateful for. Check out 5-minute daily journal here.

3. Move through it
Go outside, boost your mood in nature, get endorphins and move in any way that feels good for you! Dance, run, walk, yoga, stretch, tennis or go for a swim 🧘🏽‍♀️

4. Name it to tame it
The power of simply naming our emotions... (you can also support children with this too)

5. Use your breath as an anchor - the fastest way to calm our nervous system. Try inhale for 4, exhale for 6 🌀
